Contract and Civil Engineering Accreditation, Highlands & Islands

In December 2006 we achieved the BS EN ISO 14001:2004 standard in Environmental Management Systems. This was very important to us as, like the majority of people, we were becoming increasingly aware of the accumulative impact society’s actions are having on the environment. By developing an EMS we have undoubtedly reduced our company’s impact on the environment.

Having registered for Achilles in October 2008 we were subjected to a rigorous audit of our Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality systems.

Achieving no less than 82% in each of these areas we were awarded the UVDB Verify standard which is confirmation we meet the stringent criteria required to get onto tender lists for the various utility companies. We continue to be audited annually and have maintained our accreditation with consistent scores of over 90% in all areas.

During 2009 we updated our Quality Management Systems to reflect the latest standard in this field, BS EN ISO 9001:2008 and, following an external audit in March 2010 were awarded accreditation to this effect.

March 2010 also saw our application for registration with Constructionline accepted, which, like Achilles, demonstrates that we have met strict pre-qualification standards relevant to procurement in both the private and public sector. As all three of the above accreditations are subject to regular reassessment we can be sure that our company will continue to implement and improve the management systems already in place.
